Glossary
Allocate: to set apart for a specific purpose
Compliant: conforming to requirements
Degrading: associated with a low, destitute, or demoralized state
Depict: to represent with a visual
Destigmatized: remove associations of shame or disgrade from
Discrepancies: instances or data that deviate from the norm
Doctor-Patient Confidentiality: prevents a doctor from revealing patients’ medical information to third parties without the patient’s consent
Inpatient: care that involves formal admission to the center where the patient is receiving treatment
Legal Autonomy: the right of an individual to make decisions about their own medical care and life choices without unreasonable outside interference
Legislation: laws made official by a governing body
Median: a measure of data for which there are an equal number of values below and above it
Milestone: a significant point in development
Outpatient: care that involves a patient visiting a medical institution for diagnosis or treatment but not formally admitted
Prevalence: the percentage of a population that is affected by a particular condition at a given time
