HRRC's Response:

Sweden's new refugee reapplication process makes it increasingly challenging for refugees and asylum seekers to obtain permanent residence in the country.

The law passed in June and is now in effect. Under the new law, those arriving in the country must now stay for "at least three years before they will be considered for permanent residence".

HRRC calls upon Sweden to reconsider its migration law which will affect many vulnerable individuals and their families.
