Simra Sohail is a Judicial Law Clerk at the Supreme Court of Pakistan, where she assists the Honourable Judge with legal research, case briefs, and bench memoranda. Her work involves analysing complex legal questions arising in constitutional, civil, and criminal matters. She holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of London. Previously, she taught on the University of London International Programmes at the LGS International Degree Programme, delivering courses in Jurisprudence and Legal Theory, European Union Law, and International Protection of Human Rights.
Prior to joining the Supreme Court, Simra also served as a Research Associate at the Parvez Hassan Centre for Chinese Legal Studies at SAHSOL, LUMS. There, she conducted extensive comparative legal research on the Pakistani and Chinese legal systems, with a particular focus on CPEC-related legal and regulatory frameworks. She is also a regular contributor to The News International and The Friday Times and has published extensively in national and international law journals, with her work recognised by the Harvard Law Review. Through her research, writing, and editorial work, she continues to engage with contemporary issues in law, governance, and human rights.
In her role as Editor at the Human Rights Research Center, Simra aims to bring her legal expertise and editorial experience to support impactful human rights advocacy, foster informed dialogue, and advance research that addresses pressing global challenges.
