Mia Baxley, MA

Mia Baxley is a research analyst interested in genocide prevention and advocacy. She received her Master of Arts in Political Science from Duke University in 2023, specializing in Security, Peace, and Conflict. Her thesis focused on the dynamics of genocide memory and denial in the municipality of Prijedor in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Regionally, she is interested in Bosnia and Armenia. Previously, she has taught English as a Second Language in China, South Korea, and Madagascar and held a post-conflict peacebuilding internship in Bosnia. She was also the Scoville Peace Fellow at Search for Common Ground in Washington, DC, from 2023 to 2024. Mia currently lives in North Carolina and is actively studying French, Spanish, and Eastern Armenian.
