Maisie Ruddy graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in Peace, War, and Defense and English and Comparative Literature. While at UNC, she conducted research on right-wing terrorism with the Krzysztof Liedel Terrorism Research Center in Warsaw, Poland and supported private security firm Valens Global to investigate insurgent activities during the United States' 2003 invasion of Iraq.
Currently, Maisie works as a Legislative Aide in the U.S. House of Representatives, where she leads the human rights and foreign policy portfolio for a member on the Appropriations Committee. Prior to the Hill, she also worked at Jefferson Consulting Group, supporting USAID's Office of Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment (GenDev), and the White House Office of Presidential Correspondence. Maisie is particularly passionate about humanitarian and development policy, and how effective institutional support can address the root causes of conflict in divided and post-conflict societies
