Kaira Ray Villanueva explores how technology use and governance affect community livelihoods and environmental resilience, especially for underrepresented groups. She graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts in human rights, specializing in information science, where she researched how people communicated risk during Hurricane Sandy and wrote a thesis on which design components best provide localized weather information on digital displays.
