Russian Airstrike on Shopping Mall in Ukraine

HRRC condemns Russia's targeting of civilians in Ukraine. Attacking civilians is a war crime and must be stopped and Russia held accountable. Leaders at the G7 Summit must take further action to support Ukraine and pressure Russia to end this conflict.
A Russian airstrike hit a shopping mall in Kremenchuk in central Ukraine. The airstrike raised fears over a mass casualty event as approximately 1,000 people were in the mall at the time of the strike. Reports state that at least 15 were killed, and at least 58 were injured. Rescue operations are still underway and it is unknown how many more may still be under the rubble or are dead, injured, or alive.
Another report stated that the shopping mall was distanced from any fighting, and the missiles used are believed to have specifically targeted the location. This airstrike occurred while leaders were meeting at the G7 Summit in Germany discussing methods to support Ukraine and provide additional sanctions on Russia. Leaders are condemning Russia's targeting of a civilian site.
