Kayla is a content editor with a diverse background spanning engineering, advertising campaigns, and nonprofit communications. Kayla is a trained content editor and graduate of Edit Republic’s High-Level Proofreading & Copyediting Pro and Content Editing Pro courses. She is also a graduate of Virginia Tech, where she earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and Master of Science (M.S.) in Civil Engineering (Transportation Research).
Kayla is the founder of her own freelance editorial business, Sykes Editorial, LLC. Her niche is helping nonprofits, foundations, and businesses express their work in a way that inspires action and positive change.
When she’s not editing, Kayla enjoys walking in nature, taking photos with her Canon, playing with her two cats (Tim and Benny), and catching the latest films at the movie theater with her wife.
