Lucy Gao

Research Analyst

Lucy brings a strong multidisciplinary background having graduated from the University of Washington with bachelor's degrees in Public Health - Global Health, and Law, Societies & Justice. Her professional journey includes her current role as a Clinical Research Coordinator at Harborview Medical Center working on studies researching lung inflammation in critically ill patients, and previous experience as a Lead Research Assistant at the United Nations, where she contributed to the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities by supporting intersectional analysis for policy development.

 

With substantial experience in research and community engagement, Lucy has actively volunteered with multiple organizations focused on human rights such as alleviating homelessness and supporting formerly incarcerated individuals. She has worked directly with women experiencing homelessness, synthesizing research and community observations to evaluate employment barriers. Additionally, Lucy built and managed a network of local nonprofit organizations focused on criminal justice reform and social services to increase resource access and support information sharing. Her dedication to human rights and public health is reflected in her proactive advocacy and action-driven approach, aiming to bridge the gap between academic research and public awareness to drive meaningful change.
